Constituents Applaud Oyo Lawmaker, Ilumoka For His Free Bus Initiative, Attributes His Achievement To Makinde’s Leadership Style

The Lawmaker representing Oluyole State constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Waheed Akintayo has been receiving commendations from members of his constituents for initiating free Omi tuntun buses aimed at easing movements of the students and work force living in his constituency.

It would be recalled that as a result of the fuel subsidy removed last year by the federal government, Hon. Akintayo provided free shuttle buses for students and workers in two different routes – Muslim – New Garage and Olunde – Beere, an initiative which was his way of helping the beneficiaries to get to their destinations without much stress.

One of the beneficiaries who spoke with journalists, Mrs Anjorin Oluwakemi said “if not for Hon. Waheed Akintayo’s gesture, I don’t know how I would be conveying my children who are schooling at Academy area from our residence at Olunde with the amount we are spending on transport that has gone up with about 70% on daily basis.

Others who spoke in the same vein equally thanked Hon. Waheed Akintayo and prayed God to continue to elevate him.

Meanwhile, Hon. Waheed Akintayo has disclosed that the Omi tuntun shuttle buses that are hitherto carrying commuters from Muslim- New Garage will henceforth be deployed to carry commuters from Ayetoro to Beere route.

Hon. Waheed Akintayo who is the Chairman House Committee on Information, Media, Public Affairs and ICT, said this decision was necessary after reviewing the initiative and to extend the gesture to other parts of his constituents.

Hon. Akintayo popularly known as Ilumoka Presenter said he took the decision in the best interest of the people to ease their transportation and let them feel the impacts as their representative.

The astute lawmaker who lauded Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde’s effort at alleviating the sufferings of the downtrodden, equally appreciated the Chairman/sole Administrator of Pace Setter Transport Services, Hon. Ibraheem Oladeji Dikko for his support and cooperation for the Omi tuntun free buses he initiated.

Hon. Akintayo who attributed his achievement so far in office to Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership style, promised that he would continue to embark on programmes that will improve the standard of living of the people in his constituency area.
