Student’s Failure In Oyo May Be Self-created- Oyo Government Says

Oyo State government has stated that there is no reason for any student to fail in his examinations.

This was made by the commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Salihu Abdulwaheed Adelabu at the second edition of Journalist Olawale Ogunbusola Competition/Award held yesterday at the National Museum of Unity, Aleshinloye, Ibadan.

Speaking, the keynote lecturer on the topic” Sustaining Educational Standard in Oyo State”, the Commissioner, who was represented by deputy director, Secondary Schools in the state, Mrs Gladys Uton noted that the administration of Seyi Makinde has been adjudged next performing to the late former governor Bola Ige in the 80’s.

The Commissioner maintained that the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde has given an enabling environment to education better thriving including recruitment of over 5,000 teachers, regular supply of furniture, training and re-training of teachers, seeking support from school Alumni platforms, creation of education zones including Saki, Ogbomosho, among others to near education to every citizen.

Prof. Adelabu called students across the state to self-discipline, early studying for an academic sustenance as failure of students will be regarded self-created.

In her brief remarks, Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke called every student to be focused and manage his time effectively so as to attain a worthwhile success.

Meanwhile, an elderstateman, Prince Tunde Odunlade in a goodwill message,implored the government to create better environment for partnership with all her sectors, while there is a continued prudent funding of them.

In his appreciation message, the convener of the quiz competition/award, Olawale Ogunbusola appreciated every sponsor, especially the state government under the leadership of Seyi Makinde, Lawmakers, Commissioners, Prince89.7FM Directorate, Henley and Ascot,D Batik Gallery, Benevolence Publisher among others for a wholesome support of the event, pledged to continue to affect the society more positively for a worthwhile legacy.

i. Taiwo Winner – 1st- Loyola College,Ibadan
ii. Alao Taiwo- 2nd- Community High School,Isebo
iii. Adele Temiloluwa-3rd- Aseyori Schools,Ibadan

Senior category;
i. Adepoju Faith-1st- Loyola College,Ibadan
ii. Abdulramon Oyinkansola-2nd- Isabatudeen Girls’ Grammar School and,
iii. Johnson Ayomikun -3rd- Community High School,Isebo

At the event featured several highlights including lectures, book mime, music performance and award presentation to 2022 and 2023 best performing students and dignitaries to include the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke as Most Enterprising Youth Commissioner, founder of Prince FM, Prince Babatunde Balogun as 2023 Best Radio Founder, among others.
