In a passionate address to the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Dhikirulahi Adedeji Olajide Odidiomo, the representative of Ibadan North West/South West federal constituency delivered a resounding endorsement of what he termed an “all-important supplementary budget.”
Odidiomo likened this financial allocation to a “stimulus budget” and underscored its critical role in addressing the pressing issue of hunger in the nation.
“I want to lend my voice to the all-important supplementary budget,” declared Honorable Odidiomo.
“We need not deny the existence of hunger in the land, and this budget will directly address some of these issues.”
With heartfelt appreciation, the lawmaker extended gratitude to the Executive branch for heeding the calls of the Nigerian people and responding to the hunger crisis with a tailored budget.
“There is hunger in the land, and the Executive has demonstrated the sensitivity to craft a budget aimed at tackling this challenge,” Odidiomo acknowledged.
Drawing a global parallel, Odidiomo emphasized that even the United States of America had initiated a stimulus plan to mitigate the effects of the global recession.
He drew a comparison, stating, “Right now, the United States of America has an ongoing stimulus effort to address the effects of the global recession.
Therefore, I firmly believe that this supplementary budget is a commendable move that will address immediate concerns and help our citizens recover from their current hardships.”
In his closing remarks, Honorable Odidiomo offered a prayer for unity among his fellow colleagues in the House of Representatives, hoping that they would lend their support to this crucial supplementary budget. He emphasized the importance of a united effort in addressing the hunger crisis.
