Makinde’s 352billion 2023 Supplementary Budget Bill Scales 2nd Reading

A 2023 Supplementary Appropriation and finance Bill of #352 Billion has scaled second reading at the Oyo State House of Assembly.

The bill is a message received from the executive governor of the state, Seyi Makinde at today’s House plenary presided by the speaker, Rt. Adebo Ogundoyin.

The supplementary Appropriation Bill of #352 Billion from earlier #310billion, would enable the state government to perform its expected recurrent and capital expenditures for the rest of the year, owing to sudden socio-economic interferences including inflation and pangs of the fuel subsidy removal now with margin of 42 billion naira.

In its delibration, Chairman House committee on Budget and Appropriation and member representing Egbeda State Constituency, Hon. Olasunkanmi Babalola moved the bill passage,as seconded by a member representing Orelope State Constituency, Hon. Jimoh Lukman Isola, maintained that the state would be able to soften inflation and fuel subsidy removal, called the government of Seyi Makinde to judiciously use the appropriation and finance bill when finally passed.

Meanwhile, the House has equally received and adopted 2024- 2026 Medium Term Budget framework as a working finance and budget plan, with its transmission to the House committee on Budget and Economic for adoption.
