Makinde To Widen Revenue Through Tourism As 1936 Bower’s Tower Witnesses Renewal — Dotun Sanusi

The Chairman, Ilaji Hotels and Resort, Engr Dotun Sanusi has assured the citizens about transformation on the Bower’s Tower in Oyo State.

Sanusi made the remark at the 2023 International Tourism Day held at the Bower’s Tower, Oke Are, Ibadan on Wednesday.

The Otun Apesinola of Yorubaland noted that the administration of Seyi Makinde is ready to widen its revenue through Tourism , stressed that the state has targetted the renewal of the 1936 Bower’s Tower Project with the view to drawing members of the Ibadan indigene for a historic exhibition.

The Mogaji Olugbade maintained that the Bower’s Tower, being an ancient project would become renewed, transformed months’ time, adding that the Seyi Makinde led administration, would invest heavily on the the project in forming a partnership with the state government, while illustrious sons and daughters would join hand in the transformation move for a worthwhile history in Ibadan.

“Today is a milestone as I can tell you that the Bower’s Tower tell you more about Ibadan: ‘Unpredictability’ (A known Ibadan indigene, cannot be predicted) through the Bower’s Tower , families, clan heads, and children would return to history , form an assembly here again at the most visited tourist centre during the first British Administration in Oyo State in the year 1936”, he said.

Earlier in his welcome address, Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun said the state is blessed with a natural lake in the world, the known Iyake Lake at Ado Awaye, aside another artificial in the United States, adding that the 168 tourist centres in Oyo State would be given a focus.

Dr. Olatunbosun assured that each tourist centre in the state would have increased revenue while the tourists’ patronage increases.

Meanwhile, Commissioner for Tourism called illustrious sons and daughters of Ibadan land to invest in the state’s vision in Tourism for a better social and economic development.
