The All Progressives Congress, APC leadership in Egbeda Local Government met formally with its Avant-Garde for a strategic position over the forthcoming local government polls.
The meeting which was held at the local government party secretariat, Segelu Area, Iwo Road, Ibadan on Sunday drew members of Avant-Garde in their number to a critical meeting presided over by Party Chairman in the local government Comrade Olawale Olaleye.
In his welcome address, an APC chieftain, Murewa Adeboje appreciated the movement within the party, noted that gubernatorial defeat in Oyo State must be jettisoned for an enviable progress and victory in the forthcoming local council polls.
Adeboje added that the Party believes so much in the youths vibrancy in any nation, and must be propelled until victory.
The leader advised the members of the Avant-Garde to strengthen its media technology for the promotion of the party at both the local government area and the state at large for better development and official documentation of the party’s performances until the end of the age.
” Nobody knew Peter Obi could be as popular as he was during the last general election,but through media and youth vibrancy , his political party, Labour Party, LP became a third force in the nation’s political ranking”, he said.
In his reaction, the Egbeda APC chairmanship candidate, Hon. Dauda Bashiru boasted his administration would perform beyond expectation ranging from youth empowerment, popular representation , democratic governance in that there would a greater local government development.
Hon. Bashiru “Dabas” stressed that he would administer the council adequately well without necessarily waiting for the state and federal allocation.
The two term councillor, former Leader of Legislative council and former Local Government Secretary in Egbeda, Hon. Dauda Bashiru Adeniyi maintained that Egbeda Local government has everything needed for development , but has been marred by bad administrators, promised to correct every misrule and poor representation at his election in the year 2024.
Meanwhile, the party chairman in the local government, Comrade Olawale ‘Leye called every resident in Egbeda Local government to fully adopt the All Progressives’ Congress, APC , being a party that believes in human capital development as long as the members, or intending members are visionary.
Comrade Olawale ‘Leye assured of constituents enjoying benefits of the democracy, adding that the Party in Oyo state formally could boast of nine House of Representatives members including the Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal lawmaker ,Hon. Akin Alabi, the three successful senators, one whom is the senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District Senator Yunus Akintunde.
Earlier, the Chairman, Egbeda APC Avant- Garde, Mr Temitayo Olatunji vowed to exercise its capacities on the 2024 Local government party ‘s victory in April 2024.
Present at the meeting included Hon. Bili Ogundele, among others.
