Fortify Mobile Police Unit At Oke- Ogun Against Illegal Mining, Kidnapping, Others —Oyo Government Urges IGP

Oyo State government has pledged its readiness to continually support the Police Force which would enable effective security.

The pledge was made by the state governor, Seyi Makinde ably represented by Barr. Bayo Lawal on Tuesday at the Executive Chambers while receiving the 22nd Indigenous Inspector General of Police in the country, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun.

Makinde called the Police Boss to strengthen the state Police outfit which would help to fortify the Mobile Police Unit sited at the Oke Ogun Axis with security equipment for better credible performance against illegal mining, kidnapping and banditry.

In his reaction, the Inspector of General Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun lauded the support of the state government to the state security agencies.

Egbetokun vowed to implement a policy that would complement the socio-economic agenda of the state government, noting the interest of the Police directorate to shift from community policing to Policing Diverse community strategies as approved by the federal government while the state government is enjoined to make awareness on citizen-police-friendly plan as to strengthen the security synthesis of the state.
