Ukraine’s interior Ministry says seven people have died and 129 others are wounded after Russia attacked the central square of the northern city of Chernihiv, including a theatre and a university.
Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in Sweden to meet with Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, the royal family and other officials to boost ties in the 18th month since Russia invaded Ukraine.
‘According to a resident of Chernihiv who witnessed the attack explained that the attack which occurred at Chernihiv city in northern Ukraine said she was inside a fabric store when the attack happened.
“The window completely fell on me and I fell,” Diana Kazakova told the AFP news agency, describing the horror of the Russian missile attack.
“Then I woke up later and was completely stunned and shocked,” she said, hospitalised with a concussion and leg injuries.
In the street outside, “people were crying, shouting … it was scary,” she added.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet the speaker of Sweden’s parliament the Riksdag, the supreme commander of the Swedish armed forces, and the leaders of Sweden’s main political parparties, according to a Swedish government statement.
Recall, Zelenskyy had already met Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in his visit to Sweden.
