Oyo Assembly Challenges Ministry Of Works Over Delay In Rehabilitation Of Deplorable Roads

Oyo State House of Assembly has challenged the state Ministry of Public Works and State Road Maintenance Agency for its delay in commencing works on deplorable roads across the state.

The resolution forms part of a motion presented by a lawmaker representing Lagelu state constituency, Hon. Akintunde Olajide as seconded by a lawmaker representing Ibadan South East 2, Hon. Olusola Owolabi in today’s plenary presided over by the its speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin held at Parliament Building,Secretariat Agodi,Ibadan.

The mover of the motion lauded the state governor, Seyi Makinde for ensuring 157kilometres of roads was reconstructed in his first term,called the attention of the government to urgent rehabilitation of Wofun-Kute-Jenriyin in Lagelu Area of Ibadan totalling 3.5Kilometre and some other roads for economic development across the state.

Contributing, a lawmaker representing Ibadan North 2, Hon. Gabriel Adebayo maintained that the ministry of Works and OYSROMA has not been up and doing in the re-election of Seyi Makinde, called the House mandate appearance of the commissioner for Public Works and chairman of OYSTROMA, Co-ordinator ,Ibadan Urban Flood Management be summoned so as to find out reasons behind poor coverage of rehabilitation in the state.
