Oyo Council Poll : Fadiran Rasaq Emerges Consensus Candidate in Iseyin

In preparation for the local government election in Oyo State, the Iseyin chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has decided to field the former Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Trade, Hon. Rasaq Fadiran as the candidate of the party.

The resolution was made on Wednesday at Iseyin, after thirteen aspirants for the post agreed with party leaders as well as elders of the party in the local government that Fadiran should fly the flag of PDP during the election.

The former State Chairman of PDP who was also the Special Adviser to the Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, who was present at the event, said the outcome was as a result of unanimous decision of all aspirants to allow Rasak Fadiran’s candidacy.

“The is the consequence of party loyalty, Hon. Fadiran has showed an unequal dedication to the party and its leadership since he joined the party in 2002 from the Democratic Party of Nigeria (DPN), he has been aspiring to be the Chairman of this local government and he was always told to wait, now his time has come, we congratulate him.”

While responding, Hon. Fadiran appreciated his co-contestants and party leaders for giving him their support to be the party’s candidate for the local government election, promising that he would not disappoint them and the party.

He used the occasion to call for more support for the Government of Governor Seyi Makinde in Oyo State, so that the dividends of democracy will further reach the nooks and crannies of the State.
