Hon. Najeemdeen Oyeshina Oyedeji(O’Shine) and Hon. Musbau Akintola Azeez(Action); the lawmakers representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency of Oyo State at the green chamber of National Assembly, and Kajola State Constituency at Oyo State House of Assembly are from Ìpàmò, Ward05 and Gbónjè, in Ward 11 of the ancient town of Okeho, Kajola Local Government.
It beholds to state that the mandates that guaranteed their legislative candidatures and representations at the two hallow chambers of National Assembly and State House of Assembly, were attained on Saturdays 25th February, 2023 and 18th March, 2023 respectively.
Interestingly, the rare opportunity that the town enjoys today, is also being celebrated by Sakí(Saki-West) when the two illustrious sons of the soil, Hon.Tajudeen Kareem Abiodun Wéré of APC is representing Atisbo/Saki-East/ Saki-West Federal Constituency and Hon. Shittu Ibrahim of same party stands-in, for Saki-West State Constituency at Oyo State House of Assembly.
Not only but also Kìshí(Irepo/Olorungo LG) produced two representatives, in persons of Hon. Prince Olaide Muhammed Lateef and Hon. Waliu Salami for Ìrépò/Olorunsogo/Oorelope Federal Constituency and Irepo/Olorunsogo State Constituency respectively.
Ìgbòho in Oorelope Local Government can’t be left out, as the ancient town in 2019 political dispensation had the candidatures and representations of its products; Hon. Olumide Dibu Ojerinde(Omo Olóore) and Hon. Adewunmi Lateef Olayiwola(Ayawo) at the House of Representatives and Oyo State House of Assembly, for Ìrépò/ Olorunsogo/Oorelope Federal Constituency and Irepo/Olorunsogo State Constituency respectively.
On subject matter, the tasks that lie ahead of both O’shine and Action are premised on their readiness to have efficient delivery on genuine representation, promulgation of good laws and oversight functions among others.
These three key roles as enumerated above would be better handled and discharged by the duo, depending on their mastery, understanding and grasp of the legislative concept.
Undoubtedly, the two are now the eyes of the constituencies, whose prepared blueprints should be in tandem with sponsorship of bills/motions at the plenary sessions, and fulfilment of electioneering promises to the constituents.
It is essential to state without any equivocation that their effectiveness at hallow chambers and results to their respective constituencies are beckoned on mastery of legislative language, which goes beyond the physical display of oratory prowess and grammatical competence.
The two were not elected to be bench warmers nor concurred honourables, but people whose competency, flexibility and legislative sagacity should be felt on sponsorship of bills/motions which are targeted at ameliorating the sufferings of their constituents.
They should equally not forget that, lobby of honourable colleagues is sinquanon to their efficiencies on bills/motions, membership of house committees, oversight functions and general feedback to the constituents.
The constituents are not ready to listen to any excuse of failure as the two heads of executive arm at both Federal(President Bola Ahmed Tinubu) and State(Governor Seyi Makinde) levels are poised to delivery of good governance which can be complemented by the duo and their colleagues at their respective constituencies.
The batons of mandate given to them are to be used to run proficient races, which should in no distant time trigger better results on areas of education, health, motorable roads, youth employment and security among others.
Not only but also the communities’ dwellers across the two constituencies are anxiously waiting on how the challenges ravaging their domains would be addressed by them in no distant time.
The areas where the shoes pinch the constituents, I believe must have been taken note by each honourable while on electioneering campaigns in each constituency of jurisdiction.
Uneasy they say, lies on head that wears the crown. The two lawmakers have no doubt seen the tasks ahead of them and they must have mapped out the strategies through which their representations would be justly and fairly delivered to the constituents.
