2/3 Lawmakers Assented Financial Autonomy For Local Government — Oyo Speaker, Ogundoyin

The speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly said majority of the lawmakers have voted for local government financial autonomy in the state.

Ogundoyin noted that the 10th Assembly believes true federalism will only be established if state administrators are allowed to directly oversee the local councils by the federal government.

He added that the majority voted for financial autonomy of the local government across the state while the minority insisted administrative autonomy.

Ogundoyin insisted the 10th Assembly will not rest on its oars at ensuring the dividends of democracy spreads across the state, maintained that local road will be prioritized including the Ring Road, Agbowo, Omiyale among others, committing lawmakers in the affected Constituencies to stand-in for actions.

The lawmaker who appaluded a lawmaker representing, Ibadan South West 2, Hon. Oluwafemi Fowokanmi who consistently calls for local roads considerations even until last Tuesday five of the seven commissioner-nominees appeared before the House for screening ; vowed to appear on media space quarterly for legislative accountability despite the House streams its plenary session in its course which avails the public the opportunity to critic and receive its bills, resolutions, motions and screening as the case maybe.
