The ruling party in Oyo state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for kick-starting Omititun 2.0 in top speed by transmitting first batch list of Commissioner-designates to the State Assembly.

In a press statement made available to journalists on Saturday morning on behalf of PDP, the party’s publicity secretary in the state, Akeem Olatunji described Makinde as the game changer of Oyo’s contemporary political landscape.

While congratulating the seven Commissioner-designates for making the governor’s list of cabinet members in waiting, Olatunji noted that track records of the nominees in terms of competence and abilities guaranteed them spots on the seven man list.

He noted that while other states were still trying to settle down in office, governor Makinde already started out the race to actualizing sustainable development agenda on high note without delay.

The party urged both returning and new cabinet members in waiting to see their nominations as opportunity to write history that would be told to generations to come.

The party’s spokesman also commended Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin led state Assembly for speedy consideration of the governor’s request while reaffirming the party’s support for the 10th Assembly.

“The PDP in Oyo state was not surprised by the speed on which Omititun 2.0 started out because the man behind the wheel is not only the engineer of modern Oyo state but also the game changer of our political landscape.

“It is therefore, noteworthy to specially commend GSM like we fondly call His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, over his speedy nomination of Commissioner-designates and transmitted same to the legislature for necessary scrutiny and approval.

It is important to note that while other states were yet settling down for governance, Oyo state under the leadership of GSM is already in high speed as evident in the recent road project flag off in Lagelu and commissioning in Ona-Ara.

“As the ruling party in the state, we have no tiniest atom of doubt that Omititun 2.0 sustainable development agenda will be more successful than the first term and we urged all at both government and party levels to give one hundred percent of everything to make the vision of GSM for this second term becomes a monumental success.” Olatunji said.
