If not Seyi’s movement to People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in 2017, Oyo State PDP had already fallen in relegation. It was in a total mess. PDP had nothing to write home about !
Oyo State Electorate had become enemies to PDP, to the extent that they have vowed to jettison our great party during any Election in the whole Federation.
In fact, Seyi’s arrival into the party saved PDP to come back to life. He came when PDP was stinking and rescued it from wreckage.
Honestly, with the connivance of Hon Olayemi’s formation of alliance to be in the same camp in order to rescue PDP from pitfall in Oyo State, Hon Olayemi had no option than to quickly make a political mathematical calculation.
He then convinced his large followers in his federal constituency to leave ADC for PDP.
He was succeeded in moving his people en mass to SEYI’S PDP CAMP. Hon Olayemi and his followers since then never regret that singular political action.
Here we are today, the rest is history.
Eng SEYI fought for the Governorship ticket and eventually won the Oyo State Guber Race in 2019 to the surprise of former Gov Akala who had earlier predicted to move clear the Gubernatorial Race as he thought he wasa small boy
Immediately he was sworn in as a Governor, action just started. He modified and started making the Party popular again. To the surprise of many, he embarked on execution of masses’ oriented programmes and policies.
When electorate in Oyo State were satisfied with all what he did in his first term of 1.0 mantra, he was allowed to come over for second term which he tagged 2.0.
Two point 0 has just kick started, we pray that PDP will have soft landing in 2027. And I also pray another good man like Seyi will take over.
