A socio-political group in Oyo State has called on the second term governor of the state,Seyi Makinde to avoid erroneous individuals into his second term cabinet.
The group led by its leader, Yusuf Yahaya made the call on Tuesday in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
Yahaya warned the governor against appointing inexperienced, inhuman and selfish members into office for the second term.
The call came hours Governor Makinde announced releasing intended members of his cabinets including commissioners, special advisers, special assistants,directors-general and chairmen into agencies and ministries across the state at a service in honour of June 12 Democracy Day held at the Oritamefa Baptist Church, Total Garden on Monday.
The group called the governor to ensure individuals to work in his 2.0 mantra posses social credence including good life background and better administrative scorecards.
The group noted that it is expected of the governor to deepen into real performance of earlier dissolved members of his cabinet as to see the need for their re-appointment if the need arises.
The group revealed that the season of deception is here as many individuals with bad deliveries have employed orators and creative journalists towards wooing the governor to their sides, added this is a mirage and must never be stooped to.
” It is pretty clear many individuals in the previous cabinet performed below expectation but believe sweet words can rebirth their interest on the mind of the governor”
Yahaya commended the intuitions and powerful leadership skills and style of Governor Seyi Makinde in dealing with ills in the state transport sector known as the Park Management System,PMS such that the former chairman, disciplinary committee of the system was adequately systematically put to the ground and no more “Amalinze,the cat whose back never touches the ground “in Oyo State as we have in Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart.
Yahaya credited atom of unification among the factions in the state transport sectors, such that has become a thing of reference, stressed that the governor is an image of sight and behold in the country and must never become blurry nor dented.
Meanwhile, the group reminded the governor about an article made by an investigative journalist on Naijatodaynews.com couple of weeks that gave review of government ministries and agenda set-up for 2.0, believed facts and figures have shown that not every last commissioners and aides performed beyond 1.0.
The group urged the governor to scrutinize any received recommended candidate before enlistment, maintained power could be intoxicating in the hands of incompetents.
Mr Yahaya called Seyi Makinde to appoint new brains in the state with whom the sustainable development of the state could be engineered and set to pace which will undoubtedly roster the governor for greater heights beyond 2027 in the world of Politics.
