A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress(APC) and former Chairman of Iseyin Local Government, Area of Oyo State, Hon. Saheed Adejare Alaran has described June 12 as politically symbolic and the pillar upon which Nigeria’s democratic voyage to date rested.

Alaran made this description in a democracy day’s statement which he personally signed and made available to naijatodaynew.com.

According to the statement,”June 12 is politically, democratically symbolic & the pillar upon which our democratic voyage to date rested”.

” Late MKO Abiola was elected the president of Nigeria on that date but denied the utilisation of that mandate by the power that be then”.

“However that singular criminal denial almost plunged the Nation into unending calamity, hence the compelling need to allow a Yoruba man in the person of Obasanjo to become the president, the rest is history”.

Alaran added that, “another celebration of June 12 today, June 2023 is under another Yoruba president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by divined providence,we are all living witnesses to the political turbulence he encountered before God rescued him”.

“Against all these backgrounds,June 12 is a stock taking date yesterday, Today and so it will remain in future. President Bola Tinubu is expected in his characteristic manners to be decisive, persuasive and effective in the running of the affairs of this country at this trying period, so that he will deliver beyond general expectations”.

“All we need to do as a patriotic Nigerian is to rally him in prayers and understanding because the trip will be hard and soft for us to get to the promise land as desired by ordinary Nigerians. God bless Nigeria and Nigerians”, Alaran concluded.
