We Shall Use Weapons Of Prayers And Actions To Support Government — Oyo NACJ Pledges

The Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists, NACJ, Oyo State Chapter has pledged the support of the association to resolve intractable social challenges bedeviling the nation and the state through prayers and actions.

The association, in a statements issued on behalf of the acting chairman in the state, Comrade ‘Lekan Sobowale by the Public Relations Officer, PRO, Comrade Adeola Badru, said the association would work with governments at at all levels to find solutions to the variegated problems confronting the country.

NACJ, during a courtesy call led by the acting chairman to the new Chief Press Secretary, CPS to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, said the association is working to promote progress, peace, unity and development of the nation in general and the state in particular.

According to the statement, NACJ is determined to support government activities through their combined prayers and actions.

“This is an association of Christian journalists with common faith to associate together, think together and see how they can support the progress, peace, unity and development of the nation from the context of their Christian faith.”

“I believe that working together with this government, both believers and people of faith joining hands together, will support through prayers and actions, especially from the positions of our respective media houses.”

“We will unite, encourage this government in Oyo State to ensure that the state is able to overcome any challenge,” NACJ said.

The association commended the governor for dedicating the state under his leadership to God, adding that his elevation to second tenure was also because of the dedication of the state to God.

In his remarks, the CPS, Mr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, thanked members of the association, saying that their decision to support the government did not come to him as a surprise, adding that: “This is very new and special for the association like this to support the government.”

The CPS, however, reiterated governor’s determination not to disappoint them and the state in his new assignment for the second tenure.
