There’ll be no network failure in 2nd Term —Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has assured of more credible delivery in his 2nd Term administration.

Makinde said this on Sunday during the Inauguration/Transition Thanksgiving Service held at Precious Cornerstone University/Christ Life Church, Olaogun, Ibadan,Oyo State.

He exemplified with the recently completed Sawmill Old Ife Road Underpass and Moniya/Ogbomosho- Ogun Bridge in the outgoing 1st Term administration, stressed that his 2nd Term administration will not fail the citizen as long as there is fuller support, insisted that his first term achievement was made within two years of administration.

He maintained that advice of his cabinet and co-operation of citizens of Oyo State enabled the laudable achievement possible in his first term.

Makinde noted that after May 2019 transition process he got the clear picture of governance, despite, he had made a promise to formalize worker’s payment every 25th of the month, saying, Covid-19 hit 11 months with sure delivery in 2021,2022 while later part of 2022 and 2023 engineered the re-election bid.

“This us another four years. Let me put in perspective. Our achievement has come within 2 years. Before,May 29, I came from a private sector. I made a pronouncement that we will be paying salary every 25 of the month. When I came down the podium, I was handed a transitional document. Then, I thought who to trust at Secretariat as big as it is.

“After the first six months,by January and February, Covid-19 hit, and we started thinking about whether to lock down or not. We did work in 2021,2022 and by end of 2022 ,plan for 2nd Term became an issue”

Earlier, immediate past National President, Christians Association of Nigeria,CAN, Rev. Dr Olasupo Ayokunle, in his message titled” The mind of God for leadership” drawn from Ps.92vs 1-15 called the governor to embrace principle of Fear of God, noted that Oyo citizens have become a burden to him.

Ayokunle charged Gov. Makinde to characterize true love, leadership through building, humility, feeding the citizens well, being strong and a good listener which will enable his positive historical governance in Oyo State.

At the service included Founder, Christ Life Church, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, Chairman,PDP Board of Trustees, Sen. Adofus Wabara, Elected and re-elected State Honourables, Ex- SSG, Olubamwo Adeosun, Ex-Commissioners, Vice-Chancellor, Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan,Prof. J.K Oloke, Registrar, Oluranti Afolabi and other dignitaries.
