JUST IN: Makinde Affirms Laws Against Street Trading, Re-Appoints Ogunwuyi, Announces New CPS

Oyo State government has directed implementation of the existing laws on taffic, waste management and street trading.

This is contained in an inaugural speech made by 2nd Term elected Oyo governor, Seyi Makinde on Monday at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium,Ibadan.

Makinde said his administration has worked hard to stimulate and accelerate economic and social development in the state, called for implementation of of the rule of law as to sustain development in the state.

” As we all know where there is no law, there is chaos, business and development suffer. We must never allow our communities to descend to the level of chaos that will turn away investors”

Makinde added that his administration has provided motor parks for public motorists which undoubtedly will send wastes and street traders off roads.

Makinde noted that his administration will mandate newly created agency Oyo state Mobilization for Socio-economic development (OMASED) for public orientation and sensitization framework into which all agencies and departments of government must key in.

” This framework will ensure continuous sensitisation and enlightenment using traditional ,electronic and social media. I further direct that this framework should incorporate a timetable for the enforcement of all existing traffic, waste management and street trading laws”

Meanwhile, Oyo state governor has re-appointed Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi as the chief of Staff while a Nigerian Tribune Head of Business Editor, Mr Sulaiman Olanrewaju appointed the new Chief of Staff during the transitional event held at the Executive Chambers,Governor’s Office,Secretariat,Ibadan.
