Conference of Okeho Indigenes(Apero Omo Okeho) both at home and in diaspora have thrown their weights behind Governor Seyi Makinde on establishment of LAUTECH Campus in Iseyin, Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State.
Pastor Favour Adewoyin, National President, Apero Omo Okeho made this position known in a release which he personally signed and made available to naijatodaynew.com
According to him, “for some years now, the government of Ọ̀yọ́ State under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde has been doing its best to see that development spread to all the regions of the state”.
“Leveraging on all angles of development like construction and rehabilitation of road, construction of modern day bus terminals, establishment of schools, rehabilitating of hospitals and so on and so forth have marked the activities of the government of Ọ̀yọ́ State”.
“Part of such development was the moving of the college of Agriculture and Renewable Energy of Ladoke Akintola University (Lautech), Ogbomoso to Iseyin in Òkèògùn region of Ọ̀yọ́ State”.
“For a couple of months running to one or two years now, construction of building faculties have been going smoothly without any hitch. In addition to this, construction of the road that links Iseyin and Ogbomoso is almost at completion level”.
“But, few days ago, there was a rumour that some people and group from Ogbomoso were planning to stage a protest rally. In the midst of this rumour, a press communique has been released to present the position of the elders of Ogbomoso people that they are not against the government activity to bring a campus of Lautech to Iseyin, Òkèògún”.
“Finally, the position of Àpérò Ọmọ Òkehò, a socio-cultural association whose vision and interest is to move Òkehò to greater heights is in support that the government of Governor Seyi Makinde has done well and should continue with the good works he has been doing since he assumed office few years ago”.
“And, in continuation of his good works, we the people of Òkehò are also forward to benefit from the magnanimous gesture of the people’s governor”, Adewoyin concluded.
