CITATION OF HON. BARR. ASIWAJU FAKOREDE ADENIYI FARINTO
Fakorede Adeniyi John Farinto who was born on the 28th day of March, 1963, is a native
of Ijio, in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State.
He attended his Primary and Secondary Education in Ijio and Iseyin respectively in Oyo
state before proceeding to Ekiti state to obtain his West African School Certificate. He had his
Advanced Level Certificate in Ondo state before proceeding to obtain his Bachelor of Laws
(LL.B) Hon. Degree from University of Lagos and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Lagos
for his Barrister at Law.
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1993. He furthered his studies by
obtaining a Masters of Law Degree (LL.M) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife between
1999-2000.
Fakorede Adeniyi Farinto started his Law Practice as a Counsel in the Chambers of Chief
Afe Babalola SAN &Co. (Emmanuel Chambers), Ibadan between 1993-2000 before he
established his own Law Firm and became the Managing Partner in Adeniyi Farinto & Co.
(Olive Chambers) between 2000-2007. In 2007-2015, he ventured into politics as a result of his
astute belief and recommendations from members of his community and Local Government by
first being appointed as the Chairman , Caretaker Committee and subsequently became the
Executive Chairman, both in Iwajowa Local Government, Iwere-Ile, Oyo State.
As a man of the
people, a grassroot politician, he had the support of his Constituency to become a member who
represented Iwajowa state Constituency in Oyo state House of Assembly between 2011-2015. In
2019,he was appointed as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning by His Excellency,
Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde.
Niyi Farinto, as he is fondly called by his fellow Legal Practitioners, friends and admirers,
is a Minister in the temple of Justice, known for his uprightness, doggedness and his excellent
Performances in Legal matters and advocacy. In the political circle, his name stands out as a
grassroot politician who relates with all class and manners of people.
