Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has in no doubt set a straight record of socio-economy success in Oyo State, the pacesetter. Truth be told there has been a next phase lifting of every sector of government in the state from 29th May,2019 he became a formal governor of the state, back then at the prestigious Liberty Stadium with proclamation of ease to both the general public and civil servants including repealing the law on education payment at both government primary and secondary schools, general routing of secretariat’s fly-over which remained inaccessible by just every tom, dick and harry, release of staff salary date initiated “GSM DATE” every 25th of the month including a continued 13th month salary payment.
Findings have indicated that elected administrators in the country usually perform below expectation , which some analysts have described negatives of over-confidence and excessive political trust by the general public. As a matter of fact, I must not fold my hands and watch the repeat of this phenomenon! Never! Thanks Goodness, Gov. Seyi Makinde is highly intelligent and usually listens to the sage. May be at this point, I am acting the “angel Gabriel” to our “Mary” who will deliver salvation to the socio-political systems of the country, especially from the Pacesetter State our dear state with species of intelligents.
Really, one cannot hide the fact that several road buildings were completed by Seyi Makinde as flagged-off by Late Abiola Ajimobi, a great strategist back then in 2019. Seyi Makinde has been renamed ‘the beloved’- ‘Eniafe’. How will recent huge projects commenced by Seyi Makinde be not made a carry-over? Somebody will say ,2nd Term tenure is still until year 2027, sir,I crystally understand, it will be a busy administration. Hence, I have put it upon myself to compass direction of public wishes in the Omituntun 2.0 structure, while I seek a point of good reference for Gov. Seyi Makinde later in the state for all round beautiful history, however,I am pretty sure the literature below will add value to the anticipatory 2.0 Mantra in Oyo State, if taken seriously.
a. General licensed media stations touring/patronage- Gov. Seyi Makinde has remained most media friendly governor so far, but it seems recently, patronage has been the most influential media stations in the state. Gov. Makinde should remember that both the influential and less perceived influential rallied round for the 2nd Term re-election as almost every media station in the state has an accredited correspondent with the government beat including the office of the Governor. Inclusivity is highly key in the 2.0 Mantra and never must be underplayed. It is a belief Gov. Makinde is a man of the people, and to engage every medium which will clothe them respect, prestige and true picture of lover of justice, equity and unity, an emblem of the G5 Governors’ forum , which our brilliant Makinde belongs.
b. Development of Education Trust Fund- It is popularly understood that education is better dispensed when every man contacts. I want to believe Gov. Seyi Makinde,FNSE,Dsc.’s political credence has attracted influential and wealthy indigenes, as his style of administration is democratically balanced. For upping the standard of education in Oyo State, there is a need to open forum for judicious education trust fund. There are plenty of wealthy individuals in the state who could trust fund education alongside the state government all for flexibility .
c. Unschedule schools’ visit- This will make me to remember Late Lam Adesina, of blessed memory. He used to visit schools unschedule. I remember ,Lam Adesina visited a school during his tenure then in the year 2000 which phase lifted the school. I humbly believe Gov. Seyi Makinde should devise this means, as it will put up more discipline in the teachers, administrators and students and as well fish-out all necessaries in the schools by self.
d. Disembargoing commissioners’ media interview- It is always discouraging when ministries administrators are not able to talk to journalists despite investigations and media fleshiness are embarked. We believe Gov. Seyi Makinde is media friendly and to freshen this the more.
e. Tasking local administrators for community road projects: The general public really desires projects in their respective communities as a way of enjoying the true dividends of democracy, hence, there is a need to formally direct every elected grassroots administrator to embark on capable road delivery at least grading to access local mobility. Late Abiola Ajimobi mandated every chairman then for at least grading, dredging and all of which regard the administration more locally focused.
f. Occasional media chat with Governor’s News correspondents: Our beautiful Governor sir, one other thing necessary to prioritize in the 2.0 mantra by having an unplanned occasional media chat with news correspondents in your office. It appears news correspondents over there are not enjoying your ambience. They pang in underneath pains and suffering and have no one to cry to. You are a generous and good listener, and I trust your magnanimity ,sir, this will make direct information to you from journalists who knew length and breadth of government going by years of coverage and beyond. We want you to wade in now, sir. Ajimobi did this and remains evergreen to newsmen until yonder call
g. Distancing from monarchial reforms and laws: Really, as time evolves there is a need for reforms in the traditional sector, but,I want to opine the traditional council chiefs should be carried along in case of reforms packaging. Your successful administration is our joy,Governor sir.
h. Implementing environment taskforce: There is a need to architecture a taskforce that will maintain law and order in our markets, industrial areas and residences. Many market traders have divided the expensively constructed road for market and stalls temporary mounting. An environment taskforce, if holistically set-up will address this, restore order and impose fines, sanctions, penalties and scapegoat the culprits.
i. Re-introduction of Principal’s cup in secondary schools: The last novelty match which formally spelt-out the 2.0 mantra clinically makes public that our Governor Seyi Makinde is a sportsman; highly talented all round, up you sir. Hailing talents in Oyo State from grassroots could be made re-ignited through re-introduction of principal’s cup in secondary school to greatly engender local talents hunt.
j. Recommending present Oyo speaker for the post the 2nd Term: One other critical arm of government is Legislature. Meanwhile, it is really expected that the three(3) arms harmonize despite saddled with different responsibility, for realism of the state’s mission and visions tagged ” Sustainable development” . No doubt, the outgoing 9th Assembly made exploits in the State’s legislative framework as led by a legislator representing Ibarapa East and Oyo Speaker,Adebo Ogundoyin. We must never downplay the harmony and diligence of the legislators in the Oyo 9th Assembly irrespective of political differences( most diligently peaceful) , thereby enabling their laudable legislative business. Adebo Ogundoyin is a young politician with a clinical ability for performance, if saddled with more responsibility as a speaker. To confirm, his dexterity in the world of legislature and Politics, the present-elect ,Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu , despite differences in political ideology enlisted him amongst the youths in his inauguration committee, precisely as a chairman of the young committee, why don’t we value our own?
Finally, all stated are imaginarily and observably polled for the great advancement of our great State, Oyo State and never a threat nor a piece sponsored for any reason or anybody beyond positivity, hence, we urge no one threaten us. Seyi Makinde is your own, my own, for us all and must be rallied round to break usual 2nd Term jinxes for a greater height. I stop here for now.
