Colourful Event Holds As Oyo State Government Presents Beaded Crown, Staff Of Office To Bajigan Of Ilaji-Ile

In recognition of traditional rulers as custodians of culture and traditional heritage, Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has elevated and presented the beaded crown and staff of office to the Bajigan of Ilaji-Ile, HRM Oba Lawal Oyedepo Oyeleye Alebiosu in Iwajowa Local Government, Area of the state.

Makinde,who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters ,Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye, said it was the desire of the government to elevate the traditional institution and bring it to its rightful enviable status in the society,hence the decision to elevate some deserving monarchs across the state.

He disclosed that the current administration has reviewed and increased the allocation for traditional rulers from 5 percent to 10 percent.

He therefore admonished them to continue to perform optimally in supporting the efforts of Makinde’s led administration to maintain peace and tranquility in the state.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Niyi Adebisi, the Chairman, Iwajowa Local Government ;Hon. Prince Abdul Jelil Adebare Oyinloye,the Political Head, Iganna LCDA Hon. Bello Tajudeen Olori and the Asiwaju of Iwajowa Local Government,Hon. John Farinto congratulated Bajigan of Ilaji-Ile on his new elevated status and urged his subjects not to relent in their support for him.

They also charged him to seek for more formal education inorder to broaden his horizon.

In their goodwill messages, traditional rulers across Oke-Ogun, including the Sabiganna of Iganna land, Olokaka of Okaka,Oniro of Otu Elero of Ilero,Onigbope of igbope,Aare of Ofiki,Alageere of Ago are, Ajoriwin of Irawo and Onigboho of igboho among others took turn to explain the significance of the occasion and admonished the Bajigan of Ilaji-Ile to live up to expectations in attracting developments to his domain.
