The Oyo South Senator-Elect on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has promised to sponsor bills, which are in connection with better life for the less-privileged, disabilities and other downtown in the country.
Sarafadeen made this promise at a programme held in conjunction with the Federation of Muslim Woman Association of Nigeria(FOMWAN), Oyo State Chapter in honour of the orphans which took place in Ibadan on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
The APC Senator-Elect who donated food items which range from toiletries, beverages, noodles,eggs, detergents to FOWMAN orphanage home, noting that he had begun philanthropy over 20 years ago as a token to assist the less privileged ones.
“This is not a new thing, I have been doing this for a long time. I believe one of the ways of passing things across to the people is to help the less- privileged ones with whatsoever God has given to me.
“It’s our little way of partnering with the less privileged in the society having recognised the need for us to assist those who are in need of our support”
While urging well meaning Nigerians to extend a helping hand to the less -privileged in the country, in order to make life convenient and better for them to live.
Alli who is also The Maye Balogun of Ibadanland, promised to sponsor bills which are related to encouraging the disables and less-privileged for a healthy competition with others in the society.
“I am using this medium to appeal to the people to come to the aid of these children. Many of these women taking good care of these children are retired and they sometimes use their personal money to take care of them”.
“We thank God we have been elected, I will make sure I sponsor several bills to encourage the less-privileged and disable at the Red Chamber”, he added
Reacting, Oyo State President of FOMWAN, Alhaja Bisi Oloso credited the Senator-Elect for a gesture towards the less-privileged in a critical time the country finds herself, described Alli as a promise keeper, reliable and and a generous giver.
While stating the challenges in the FOWMAN, Oloso called on the well-to-do individuals to embrace orphanage funding aimed at caring for the children whose parents are no more on the surface of the earth.
