Kajola 2023: Assembly Returns To Okeho After 24 Years As INEC Declares APC’s Musbau Action Winner

The candidate of APC for Kajola State Constituency, Hon. Musbau Azeez known as ‘Action’ has been declared winner by the returning officer, Professor E.A. Akinrinade.

The results declared by the returning officer showed that Hon. Musbau Azeez Action scored 12,093 votes while Hon. Akeem Mustapha of PDP had 10, 279 votes.

He made the declaration at 1:00 am of Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the INEC office located behind post office in Okeho, the headquarters of Kajola Local Government.

The party agents of various political parties, who were in attendance at the local government’s collation centre certified and pended their signatures in forms E8 containing results coming across 11 wards making Kajola Local Government.

It would be however recalled that the House of Assembly has returned to Okeho after 24 years.

Hon. Dapo Yussuf of PDP, a native of Okeho represented Kajola State Constituency between 1999-2003, Hon. Sulaiman Tijani of same PDP, who happens to be a native of Isemi-Ile occupied the position between 2003-2007.

Hon. Felix Ige of Action Congress(AC) who comes from Isemi-Ile represented the state constituency at Oyo State House of Assembly between 2007-2011, while Hon. Abiodun Thomas Adegoke of ACN, who comes from Ayetoro-Oke filled the vacancy between 2011-2015.

Hon. John Olaleru of APC, who hails from Ilero held the office between 2015-2019, while the incumbent Hon. Akeem Mustapha known as ‘Mugaty’ became occupant of office since 2019 till June 2023.

The winner, Hon. Musbau Azeez Action will however assume office on June 2023, when tenure of the current occupant(Mugaty) of office must have lapsed.
