Arapaja Had No Knowledge Of Makinde’s Coalition In 2019, He Only Came To Reap Where Not Sown — Olopoeyan

The Chieftain of NNPP in Oyo State and party Leader across Southwest of Nigeria, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan has described the Deputy National of PDP, Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja as someone who had no knowledge of coalition that culminated in emergence of Governor Seyi Makinde, but only came to benefit the struggles of the concerned political gladiators and individuals.

Olopoeyan made this allegation against Arapaja while featuring on a popular radio station in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

The strong man of Ibadan politics said, the former governor of Oyo State and Ex Ambassador to Jordan could not explain the merger arrangement that birthed the emergence of Governor Seyi Makinde in 2019, but only came in after deed had been done to reap the fruits of some individuals who partook in the political engagement.

Olopoeyan who tongue lashed Arapaja regarding character assassinated statements and abusive words made against the former Governor of Oyo State and current Otun Olubadan of Ibadan, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, however noted that it was same Ladoja whom he alleged of sitting at a particular corner endorsing a candidate was same man who led 2019 coalition for what he is enjoying today.

He alleged Arapaja of going too far in disparaging the person of high Chief Adewolu Ladoja whom he described as a person who cannot be disrespected by Makinde himself and any other person in Oyo State and beyond.

Olopoeyan noted that, consistent vituperation of Arapaja on Ladoja and other people who are opposed to Makinde’s reelection justify that he doesn’t want to loose benefits which he has been enjoying under his boss.

On consensus arrangement over adoption of a single gubernatorial candidate for Saturday’s election, Olopoeyan however affirmed that announcement would be made after all hands had been found on deck.

He acknowledged the visit of all leading gubernatorial candidates that ranged from Adebayo Adelabu of Accord party, Teslim Folarin of APC and people of Governor Seyi Makinde at his residence in Ibadan for coalition, despite his own Popoola Olukayode Joseph of NNPP, stressing that there would be alliance with a given political party after every discussion and step must have been taken in his party(NNPP).

Olopoeyan maintained that announcement on party’s gubernatorial candidate to be chosen for coalition arrangement would be made known on Thursday, March 16.

He however enjoined people and most especially the eligible voters to go out en mass to exercise their civic responsibility, calling on those who are hellbent to forment troubles aimed at truncating the exercise rescind the plans.
