Following the news spreading like a wildfire that the leaders of Accord Party in Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State have allegedly endorsed the candidature of Governor Seyi Makinde for the next gubernatorial election, the concerned leaders have outrightly debunked the allegation and however showed loyalty to party’s gubernatorial and assembly candidates, Hon. Adebayo Adelabu and Hon. Rasheed Waheed Ajulo.
Their emphasis on commitment and absolute loyalty to the party and its candidates was contained in a Communique issued at the end of their meeting held in Ilero, KLG on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
The meeting that was presided over by Alhaji L.O. Amuda had discussions that centred on review of the last elections, preparation for the next gubernatorial and assembly elections and maintenance of their stance on party’s candidates for elections among others.
The communique which has details of deliberations goes as follows:
COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE MEETING OF ACCORD LEADERS IN KAJOLA LOCAL GOVERNMENT, AREA OF OYO STATE, HELD ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8, 2023 IN THE ANCIENT TOWN OF ILERO OF THE LOCAL COUNCIL.
We, Leaders of Accord Party in Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State on Wednesday, March 8,2023 had fruitful meeting that majorly centred on review of the last Presidential and National Assembly elections held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, current position of the party in the local government and Oyo state at large, and state of preparedness for the next Governorship and State House of Assembly elections among other issues.
After extensive deliberations on all issues that were in connection with Accord Party in Kajola Local Government, we however resolved as the follows:
That we have all agreed to put outcome of the last elections behind us and face the next lines of action.
That all members of Accord Party in Kajola Local Government had affirmed readiness to work for the governorship candidate of the party, Hon. Adebayo Adelabu and we shall all vote on election accordingly.
That we had equally reached strong compromise on how Hon. Rasheed Wahab Ajulo, the party’s candidate for Kajola State Constituency would be massively voted for.
That we have firm belief in the candidatures of Hon. Adebayo Adelabu and Hon. Rasheed Wahab Ajulo, with conviction that if the duo are elected, their emergence will birth good governance in Oyo State
That members of public should outrightly disregard information spreading like a wild fire, that we are working for reelection of Governor Seyi Makinde.
That we, leaders and general members of the party in Kajola LG shall not relent in canvassing and mobilizing for the party’s candidates until the last day as directed by INEC.
