Former minister of Communication, Barr. Bayo Shittu has said that, the news spreading like wild fire, that All Progressives’ Congress ( APC) plans coalition with the ruling party in Oyo state remains a propaganda which must be outrightly disregarded.
This came at a press conference organized by the former minister in his office on Wednesday, March 1 in honour of the president-elect, after announcement in the early hours of Wednesday by the chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Yakoob Mahmood.
Asiwaju polled over 2million votes against Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, who participated actively in the Saturday 25th February,2023 Presidential/National Assembly Elections.
Barr. Shittu while congratulating the president-elect,Tinubu called on all electorate to massively vote for the state gubernatorial candidate, Teslim Folarin and other contesting lawmakers on the platform of APC on Saturday 11th March,2023 so as to enable numerous dividends of democracy available to all and crannies in Nigeria
Saki-born politician boasted that APC has succeeded in producing 3 Senates, 9 House of Representatives-elects as they are patiently waiting for emergence of Folarin at the poll slated for upper Saturday.
” For now, it is a huge plus for the entire APC in Oyo state as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu became the president-elect in the country.
” We are not in anyway dreaming of coalition with the People’s Democratic party in Oyo state as claimed by some quarters who failed to find out the veracity and authenticity of the information.
Shittu stressed that his party is up to the task to win the next Oyo Gubernatorial election with readiness to usher in good governance.
” As I speak , no directive of such has come up from any quarter, nor from the president-elect, Asiwaju Tinubu on negotiation of coalition with any political party.
” We have greatly succeeded in the concluded Presidential and national assembly elections, so why the coalition?”, he added.
Ex-Minister called on Oyo State electorate to massively vote for APC on Saturday 11th March, 2023 while gubernatorial election and House of Assembly Elections will take place.
He said, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Teslim Folarin’s governments would birth good and unprecedented governance in the history of Oyo State and Nigeria.
Shittu added that Teslim Folarin is set to give unprecedented governance that would cater for youths, aged , women and the general public, if elected.
