The Oyo State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming elections, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin has sympathized with the people of Ibarapaland over the recent killings, maiming and arsons during January 31st campaign rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Governor Makinde.
Folarin also declared the issues of incessant killing by the agents of the government, led by the chairman of the Motor Park Management System (PMS), Mukaila Lamidi Auxiliary would be a thing of the past soon.
The governorship candidate of progressives party in the state in a statement signed by his personal media aide, YSO Olaniyi said Folarin was embittered with the news of another attacks on the people of Ibarapa.
According to him, Ibarapa Land had been on the receiving end of series of attacks leading to deaths and destruction of properties by Auxillary and the PMS boys who have consistently demonstrated the eagerness to wreck havoc for Governor Seyi Makinde with the sole aim of creatinh apathy during February 25th and March 11th elections.
The three-term senator recalled that the chairman of the Motor Park on 20th May, 2021, invaded Eruwa and Lanlate during the Local government elections and gunned down four hapless individuals, adding that Governor Makinde justified the senseless act of violence by castigating the people of Ibarapa East for daring to oppose the will of the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly to select a Local government Chairman of his choice.
The governorship candidate who insisted that the governor made this terrible statement at the Eruwa Town Hall two weeks after the ugly incident, fumed that Makinde and his co-travellers have vaguely attempted to blame the opposition for the incident at Igangan when the attempt failed, they resulted to begging the affected individuals.
Folarin said he was aware that the governor through the member representing Ibarapa Central/North in the Oyo State House of Assembly is begging and replacing back the Motorcycles burnt by their thugs during the attack on the innocence people.
Querying if the governor would be able to replace the innocent lives that had been lost, Folarin said it is on record that the governor neglected Ibarapa zone for almost four years, saying the only road linking Ibarapa to Ibadan is an eyesore.
“The “flag off” of the Rehabilitation of the said road is just an attempt to deceive the people of Ibarapa. I am equally aware of the failed promises to upgrade the Eruwa Farm settlement, Mini Stadium in Igboora and the complete collapse of infrastructures in the zone. I appeal to our people in Ibarapa to hold on a bit for a fair, responsible and responsive government of APC.
“Our administration will put an end to gross marginalisation, killings and maimings in Ibarapa Zone. Being an agrarian zone, Ibarapaland and the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH) – Igboora will play big roles in our Itesiwaju Ipinle Oyo Agenda” Folarin assured.
