A south western political leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Chief Abdulrasheed Adebisi Oloooeniyan has ruled out a chance of party coalition with the ruling party in the state led by Seyi Makinde, noting that he had long met the governor with no plans to form a coalition with his led political party as the 2023 general elections draw closer.

Chief Abdulrasheed Adebisi Olopoeyan who stated this during an interview session led by an Ibadan Ace Broadcaster, Ajibola Akinyefa, adding that the last time he met with Governor Makinde was in 2019 after the official swearing-in ceremony of the governor in the state.

The NNPP chieftain added that there could, however, be a party coalition from other parties externally, provided they meet his party’s standards and principles with the party for an assured victory.

Olopoeyan stressed that the party presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankanso is politically sound throughout the country and can fetch the party the needed national prestige and dominance.

He stated that the governor of Oyo state,Seyi Makinde is free to administer as desired as long as people voted him, with no control nor interference from anyone. As soon as you have a governor,he takes the control of all resources, both human and non-human”, Olopoeniyan said.

He added that the governor will never be regarded as his political leader, despite he is constitutionally allowed to administer the state

” Seyi Makinde is never my leader either. I cannot go to him neither shall he come to me, each one on his own

” Gbolarumi invited me to his party held at the king’s palace ,maybe because we are his people”, he added.

Olopoeyan explained that the leadership attributing to the governors in the country only lasts for four years.

Olopoenyan however stressed that Seyi Makinde joined the People’s Democratic Party after him, after years of membership

“Presumably, Makinde wins his second term bid, he remains the governor and never my leader.

“Late Governor Ajimobi was once in the state , I remained here and what will happen?” , he said.

However, Olopoeyan called on the journalists to stay-off his issue with Seyi Makinde as it affects the state political atmosphere.

“Why always my issue over Seyi Makinde periodically, please ,let no journalist asks about my relationship with Seyi Makinde anymore!”, Olopoeyan added.

He frowned at journalists for not formally announcing his presidential candidate among others in their professional engagement.

” It is very unruly for journalists not mentioning my party presidential candidate as that of People’s Democratic party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and All progressive Congress, APC,Ahmed Tinubu being echoed repeatedly.

“I have a vibrant presidential candidate, in person of Rabiu Kwankanso”, Olopoeyan said.

“I have a vibrant presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankanso, a huge political elephant who can compete with others politically and otherwise

Olopoeyan added that crowd building during campaign sessions by politicians has no indication that election winning is certain by a political campaigner.

” Governor Akala in his second term bid could have been secured in relation to crowd acceptance in 2019, but he failed.

” Governor Ajimobi won due to popularity and formal structure in his party then”

Chief Olopoeyan boasted that his party has successfully submitted list of party agents numbering 6,400 to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)office all to ensure formal participation in the 2023 general elections in the country.

” INEC has insisted the submission of party agents who formally are members , to include all bio-data and as well their photographs, this we have observed

“As election draws nearer, my political party is fully ready to take charge, he concluded.
