The deputy governor of Oyo State,Barr. Bayo Lawal on Friday applauded the federal government over critical approach to pinning down insecurity in the country.
Barr. Bayo Lawal who said this at the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day held at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat Ibadan stated that the efforts of both the federal and state government have helped to reduce insecurity in the country to include banditry, brigandage, kidnapping and insurgency.
Deputy governor added that there is a need to care for the needs of maimed soldiers, their widows, children and other dependents and sensitization for pathetic plight of the fallen heroes.
Barr. Lawal appealed to the industrialists, commercial firms, organisations, philanthropists and all individuals to donate generously to the Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem Appeal Week Fund for support of the disabled and less-privileged.
Recall, Armed Forces Remembrance Day is formally celebrated in commemoration of of Armed Forces Remembrance with fund raising from red poppies now every 15th January of the year from 11th November, while the deputy governor donated a sum of three million naira to the families of dedicatedly lost
soldiers in the country.
