A call has gone to all support groups working for the presidential ambition of former Lagos governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to mobilize support for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2023 elections.
Engr. Raufu Olaniyan, whose removal as deputy governor to Governor Seyi Makinde, is being challenged in court, made this known in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Saturday at the meeting of Oyo State Support Groups for Tinubu/Shettima 2023.
At the event which took place within the premises of Obafemi Awolowo Stadium (formerly Liberty Stadium), the Igboho-born retired permanent secretary who is now in the All Progressives Congress, APC, said it was imperative all candidates of the party win the next elections.
According to Olaniyan, who coordinates the Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Council, ICC, in Oyo State, “By the grace of God, things are looking better for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other candidates of our party. It is important that our three senatorial candidates— Sen. AbdulFatai Buhari, Dr. Yunus Akintunde and Barr. Sharafadeen Alli win the election. Also, all the 14 house of representatives candidates should also be supported to win. Apart from the fact that they are far better than those they are contesting with in other parties, Asiwaju Tinubu needs a National Assembly populated by the APC lawmakers in order to get many developmental things done. Two weeks after that, let’s all do same thing for Sen. Teslim Folarin as our next governor and all the 32 assembly candidates. So I urge you to support all our candidates,” he said.
Chief Moses Alake-Adeyemo, late former governor Abiola Ajimobi, who also hails from Igboho, headquarters of Oorelope local government like Olaniyan, enjoined all support groups to work in unison in a bid to secure victory for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates.
Commending the many support groups who were represented by over a thousand delegates, Hon. Saheed Akinade-Fijabi, urged them not to relent in their bid to mobilize support for Tinubu.
Convener of the meeting, Mrs Titilope Gbadamosi-Adébáyọ̀, who is an assistant director, Support Groups Coordination, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Southwest, expressed happiness for the turnout, assuring that they would be carried along in whatever they do that involves them.
The leadership of various groups gave their assurances to their commitment to the victory of our great party, the APC at the polls.
