Spread the love

Akeem Adeyemi, son of late Ọba Lamidi Adeyemi and two-term member representing Oyo federal constituency at the house of representatives said that the State Zonal flag -off campaign of the All Progressives Congress, APC, which held at Oyo on Monday was violent free.

He said no amount of blackmail against the party can affect the popularity of the party cum its campaign, adding it recorded large turnout

Meanwhile, this is just as the APC chieftain seeks a third term, urged the PDP not to turn Oyo into a battleground.

According to him, “We have not gotten over the success of the flag off. While we are grateful to our party members for the show of love, we urge the citizens not to be swayed by the attempt to use violence to take the shine off the event.

“I know some people, especially members of the opposition, are jittery about our rally. I don’t know why they are surprised that our rally attracted such crowd. Oyo, especially since the last election, has been a progressive enclave. We almost recorded 100 per cent in all elections held here. The only election PDP can win in Oyo is maybe one conducted by the state. And you know what I mean.

“Nobody should link us with violence. Our event was successfully done with no case of violence. Security agencies were there from the beginning to the event.

“We will never fight ourselves as we don’t see politics as do or die. We have always seen ourselves as brothers in Oyo. No matter the difference in political affiliation, we have always seen ourselves as partners in progress. So, someone shouldn’t incite our people against one another”, Skimmed concluded.
