Fear Not, Oyo Government Is On Top Of Its Security — Makinde

Oyo State Government has reiterated its continued safety mission for all residents and commuters across the state.

This was stated to newsmen by the governor,Seyi Makinde at the Oyo State Amotekun Headquarters office, Moniya an area in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state on Monday.

The governor, Seyi Makinde, who was represented by a special assistant on security matters to the state governor, Mr Fatai Owoseni who stated that there should be no fear for residents and commuters across the state as rumour of kidnapping will be brought to nought through the efforts of sophisticated security personnel in the state, to include the state Amotekun corps.

Owoseni added that the government will continue to support the security agencies in the state as to enable tranquility known Oyo state for while collaboration on security is heightened between Oyo and Ogun State government on its boundaries security.

” All I want to say is that the entire people of the state should peaceably go about their legal business

” All commuters should continue their activities as I am assuring everyone that the state government is on top of the situation, when it comes to security”

” Efforts will be more intensified on forming nexus with local security intelligence as success of sound security in the state is never behind them

” Also, every resident should be free to call 615, the state security number or download ‘oyo state crime alert application’ which can instantly help to connect the state security agencies
‘ Say something when you see something’ ” , Owoseni added.

Speaking, the Oyo State Amotekun Commandant , Colonel Olayinka Olayanju(Retd.) applauded the state government for its proactiveness on security, which enabled the successful recovery of some powerful weapons from unscrupulous elements by its agency with parade of four Ak47 and Ak49 riffles, 50 rands of 7.62 MS special, 2 complete camouflage, jungle hats, army shirts and beret, raincoat and Navy cap, colarado , marijuana and fire lighter, all of which were discovered at a cave found remotely from Galilee Area last Friday.

” We directed our men to comb everywhere as we got an information last Friday around Galilee that some armed men were sighted with sophisticated weapons

” Remember, recently the fear of kidnapping rocked the state from around the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

” All security personnel in the state were worried about undue insecurity threats in Oyo state especially as the kidnapping news filled the state.

” The governor,Seyi Makinde insisted the culprits be brought to justice ,thus through the security collaboration of Oyo state with Ogun State government, there will be better security at our boundaries”, he said.

Oyo State Amotekun Commandant enjoined the Oyo state residents to remain alert on security as the year runs out , with no fear on continued socio-economic activities.
