2nd Term Bid: Ayawo launches Campaign Council for Makinde In Oorelope LG

The second term bid of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has received a boost as the Hon. Lateef Adebunmi Ayawo, the campaign coordinator of the governor’s re-election bid, launched the campaign council of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in Oorelope Local Government to work for the success of the party and its candidate in the forthcoming 2023 general election.

While speaking at the epoch-making event, Ayawo, a member of Oyo State House of Assembly, representing Oorelope state constituency, said the campaign council was unveiled to mobilise the populace in the local government to have an active role in Makinde’s re-election and to ensure the continuity of good governance of in the state.

He noted that Makinde is committed to his vision of creating wealth by changing stories from poverty to prosperity.

Ayawo, further explained that the campaign council will enable people in the local government to enlist to offer direct and non-direct services for the re-election of the governor.

He, however, urged the party members in the local government to close ranks in order to re-elect Governor Makinde to continue his good governance.

Ayawo, expressed confidence that PDP would repeat the 2019 feat in the state when the party won the governorship election in the state, while thanking the governor for providing him the opportunity to serve in that capacity as the director general/coordinator of the campaign council in the local government.

Speaking at the event, Executive Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Akeem Raheem Adepoju, enjoined all members of the party to support the campaign council for success in the forthcoming general elections in the state.

He commended the governor for his political sagacity and adroit leadership skills which he had deployed in managing the affairs of the party and state since 2019.

The campaign committee members include: Hon. Lateef Ayawo, LG Coordinator; Hon. Akeem Raheem Adepoju, Council Chairman; Hon. Adeoti Abdulazeez, Party Chairman/member of the state campaign council; Hon. Yunus Adekunle Yusuf, Senatorial Chairman, Hammed Oseni Ayiki, LG Youth Leader; Medinat Adekunle, LG woman leader; Alhaji Safariyu Oyelowo, Youth Coordinator.

Others were, Adeyemo Toyin M., Woman Coordinator; Alhaji Jimoh Bello, a representative of leaders; Yusuf Jimoh Olaide, a representative of supers; Abduljelil Bello, a representative of Councillors; Iroko Abdulazeez Wale, a representative of SAs; Ajibade Razaq, a representative of people with disabilities; Aruga Abubakar Ardo, a representative of non-indigenes and Tijani Mufutau Olaiya, representative of ward chairmen.

The event, which was held at the legislative chambers of the local government, had in attendance the SA of the Oyo North federal Constituency (Oorelope, Olorunsogo, Irepo), Alhaji Ibrahim Tijani Omupo; Alhaji T.T, coordinator Seyi Makinde campaign council, Irepo LG; Alhaji Yakubu Oladoja, one of the leaders of PDP in Oorelope LG; Former Oyo State House of Assembly member, representing Oorelope state constituency, Hon. Lukman Balogun.

Others were, Alhaji Salami Alagbaje, Alhaji Sarafadeen Alani Alwajud, Hon. Asimi Apon; Vice chairman of the local government, Hon. Ebenezer Atoyebi and Hon. Shittu Salaudeen, Secretary of the local government.

The inauguration also witnessed the presence of different groups, which consist of a group from wife of the governor, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde.
