As the tempo of political activities increase across the nook and cranny of Oyo state, various political parties and their candidates have been staging strategies to covet the seat of power at various levels.
Against this background, the former majority leader of House of representatives, Hon. Barrister Mulikat Akande Adeola had charged the electorate across OYO NORTH Senatorial District to verify the antecedents of the candidate lobbying for one Position or the other before giving them mandate.
Hon. Adeola, the flag bearer of Social Democratic Party of Oyo North Senatorial District frankly opposed the old custom of voting for the party without verification of whom the flag bearer is.
While addressing the public at the flag off campaign of the social Democratic party in Oyo north senatorial district in Iseyin, she opined that her political architecture has never based on deceit but only to solve societal problems .
She affirmed that her political historical background and antecedent of other SDP candidates will grant us victory in “2023.
Reacting to the agitation of some political jobbers using oke-ogun lokan slogan to steal people’s mandate in the coming election. She described it as a political gimmick that could not stand the test of time.
She added that people should be aware of who should serve them better no matter where he or she comes from.
The political contests of our nation is no more about party but the quality and reliability of the candidate irrespective of region religion or gender.
She therefore encouraged the people of OkeOgun to vote base on the credibility and quality of candidates and those that can deliver the dividdends of democracy to them better.
She promised them good representation and not to disappoint them but continue in her good gesture.
In the same vein,Alhaji Waheed Adebayo Raji, the SDP candidate for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency also keen on the same page that SDP is a grassroot based party that carries every individual along in its administration and that has gingered people to join in the train.
He lamented on the suffering of the people by the ruling partying at the various levels he described as wickedness which is called for immediate action and that’s what SDP stand for.
According to him, “there is need for change, things should not continue like this”.
He however urged the public and the party faithful members to quickly propagate the message of hope to others to support the party and people that are really ready to ameliorate their suffering.
