The people’s Democratic Party in Oyo State received another new member into its fold on Friday.
The new member, Hon. Emmanuel Eyitayo Oyewole being the 2023 Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate who defected from African Democratic Congress Party (ADC) said the achievement of the ruling party in Oyo State led by Engr. Seyi Makinde with landmark socio-political successes eventuated his formal defection to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
” Let me inform all of you here that today , my dumping ADC is never an accident, I have been on this for quite sometime, having considered the true governance in Oyo State under the beautiful administration of Engr. Seyi Makinde, then ,myself and other followers have decided to move on to PDP with our unfailing aspirations, where these will thrive , knowing fully well that the only political party that could sustain true democracy in Oyo State is the continuing administration in the state”
” Let me add here that , the present led administration in Oyo State has really succeeded in establishing major infrastructural facilities to the good people of Oyo State which is in tandem with our aspirations, then what should stop me from joining such a brilliant team?”, he said.
While fielding questions from the newsmen as held at the Oyo State NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan, Hon. Oyewole stressed that he is ready to move on and build better future with his now new political party,PDP with emphasis of never opting-out of the Party as long as good governance is oriented.
” There is nothing anyone can say against my decision to leave ADC for PDP.
” Sometime, I was indisposed , and now I am healthy, I am hale and hearty, I am ready for the new challenge ahead. I can microphone it that my years of experiences in
Politics in Nigeria, especially this, beautiful pacesetter State, things will be more positives”, Oyewole added.
Recall, thousands of ADC and APC party members defected which included a serving legislator, representing Ogo-oluwa/Surulere in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Simeon Oyeleke at the Lekan Salam Stadium, Adamasingba last week Wednesday witnessed by Gov. Seyi Makinde.
Meanwhile, the defection ceremony had in attendance Seyi Makinde’ s media aides and some PDP political stakeholders.
