The need for effective representation, better laws, security and good governance among others dominated talks at a political circuit organised for Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the APC Candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, by the seasoned journalists of Fresh FM, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The Political Circuit led by Isaac Brown had in attendance of others like Comrade Ademola Babalola and Pastor Bisi Oladele generated questions which centred on how to ensure effective representation, bills/motions needed for the constituents, plans on what he intends to do differently among others.
While responding, BSA said if he was elected into the red chamber of the National Assembly come 2023, he would give priority to effective representation, useful bills/motions, security, good governance, poverty alleviation schemes, employment generation and others.
He said, “While all previous occupants of the office, including the incumbent, have endeavoured in various ways to justify their election and deliver their best, I am confident in my ability to provide our senatorial district with even more commendable representation”.
BSA who is also an Ibadan high chief reiterated that he would initiate and advocate for laws and reforms that seek to improve education, health, security, the well-being and welfare of the constituents.
He promised to collaborate with the notable quarters like legislative colleagues, the traditional and religious leadership, and pressure groups like media to influence and lobby for the rapid development of communities within his senatorial district.
Akogun reiterated commitment to reduction of poverty through expanded empowerment initiatives and increased access to employment and vocational and entrepreneurial trainings.
He pledged to develop the human capital assets of the communities within Oyo South Senatorial District through deliberate policies and initiatives that improve the people’s well-being.
He said, “all of these things and more are on my agenda, not because they are politically expedient, but because I am determined to help improve the lot of my people.”
Akogun who was once the chairman, Ibadan North Local Government, SSG, Chief of Staff and Chairman Oodua Group of Companies maintained that his antecedents in politics, people’s support and readiness to serve are some of the obvious factors that would give him edge above the opponents to triumph at the poll slated for 2023.
