Oyo: Thousands Of Accord, PDP, NNPP, SDP Join APC In Lagelu Local Government

The numerical strength of members of All Progressives Congress(APC) in Lagelu Local Government and Oyo State as a whole keeps increasing as thousands of Accord, NNPP, PDP and SDP joined fold of the progressive party at the local council.

Their official defection and identification with the party took place at APC local government’s meeting held at Ejioku Lagelu Ibadan, under the chairmanship of Mr Alayan Fatai Sunday.

Among those defected to APC from New Nigeria People Party(NNPP) in Lagelu LG were Hon. Raji(Assembly Candidate), Hon. Loreez, party chairman, woman leader, all executive members, and their members respectively.

Raji dumped his assembly’s ticket and however promised to support Hon. Lekan Ogundairo who had emerged candidate for Lagelu State Constituency.

Defectors from PDP, Mr Lamfard Olanrewaju Ifadele, and over 200 members defected to progressive party in ward 1, while members led by Iya Afin Okeowo defected to APC in ward 10, Baba JJ and their members in ward 12, while all PDP and accord members in ward 11 moved to the progressive party accordingly.

Dr Yunus Akintunde, party’s candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District received them with standing ovation and however assured them of no discrimination nor deprivation of rights and privileges regardless of time they showed their membership with the party.

Akintunde enjoined all to work passionately and diligently in order to ensure the presidency of Asiwaju Tinubu/Shettima, Governorship of Senator Teslim Folarin and emergence of all progressive candidates in the local government and across Oyo State.

For easy campaign and overall success of the party, Akintunde donated bus to APC in Lagelu with the sum of #1M.

Among those who were in attendance while the official defection and meeting lasted, were Lagelu Party Chairman, Mr Alayan Fatai Sunday, and APC leaders like Elder D.A Lawal, Elder Kehinde Balogun, Elder Abiodun Amoo, Elder Adeleke and Hon. Abiodun among others.
