As the campaign for the national assembly commences across the country, a sociopolitical group, Oyo of Our Dream (OYD) has called on the member representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency, Hon. Akin Alabi to be sincere with himself and his campaign in a physical manner, rather than the virtual he has embarked upon on Twitter.

The group via a press release in reaction to the Twitter space hosted by Hon. Akin Alabi recently to campaign for his reelection exercise by her secretary, Mr. Oyebamiji Sikiru chides the lawmaker for living in foolery of his political campaign by thinking the voters of Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency are living there.

“We are not disappointed for real with the latest development from Hon. Akin Alabi as he takes twitter more important than the good people of his constituency who voted generously for him back in 2019 to replace Hon. Taiwo Michael Akintola. But it is very worrisome that, the said lawmaker has unarguably performed below expectations, and woefully as evident in his party primary elections where all odds were against him before forcing himself on the party.”

“While some lawmakers through their achievements record conveniently gotten their return ticket from their party, Akin Alabi was at the mercy of some power brokers when the real Omoluabi of the constituency, Akinjide Kazeem Akinola was highly favoured. It is a pure shame seeing serving lawmakers being rejected like that by all in this modern political dispensation. No other reasons for such other than him performing below the Taiwo Akintola voted out for him.”

“Thus, it is very understandable that Akin Alabi’s choice of twitter for his campaign is a way to cover up his shameful reign as a lawmaker of the constituency because it will be hard for him to go on the streets of his constituency to a campaign. And the reason why he has as well not being bold enough to print his campaign poster alone but joining with that of the presidential candidate of his party as a cover-up to his bad image.”

“While we are urging him to start campaigning across the constituency, we equally urged him to be rolling out his achievements for the good people of his constituency,” he concluded.

However, effort made by our reporter to get in touch with Oloye Akin Alabi on the allegation made by the above group prove abortive, as calls put through him may time but no response.
