The Impeachment Of Engr. Olaniyan: Blessing In Disguise | Waheed Lawal

Spread the love

Although the impeachment and removal of Engr. Rauf Aderemi OLANIYAN has been effected by the rubber stamp house of assembly in Oyo State, what is almost certain is that the matter will end up at the Supreme Court, the ultimate court in the land and justice shall surely be served.

Even a newly called to the bar would easily dismiss the impeachment as a charade and a newly inaugurated member of the house of assembly would admit that the impeachment cannot stand. Anyway, its a cash and carry type and it’s bound to be set aside. I do hope the embattled Deputy Gov. Olaniyan will not give up.

I described him “embattled deputy governor ” because to me he remains the deputy governor until the final pronouncements have been made on the legality, constitutionality or otherwise of the purported impeachment and removal.

With due respect to all seers, prophesy sayers and clairvoyants, anybody who has divine blessing of analytical thinking, sound reason and judgement of political events would know that the purported impeachment is a prelude to the final disengagement of the PDP from the political theatre of Oyo State.

Interestingly, the purported impeachment of Engineer Rauf Olaniyan also marks the end of the coalition that brought GSM into office and a bad omen of what is awaiting PDP come 2023.

Just take a cursory look at these critical players in the emergence of Engr. Makinde as the gubernatorial candidate of PDP in 2019 and his eventual electoral victory in the same year.
They are ?:

  1. Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeniyan,
  2. Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola,
  3. Engr. Femi Babalola Jogor,
  4. Hon. Jibola Muraina and many other grassroot politicians we cannot continue to mention. Where are these people today?

Don’t forget the roles played by the coalition parties and their leaders.

Omode bu iroko o boju wehin. Se oojo loluwere n pa ni?

Will you take the silence of Engr. Rauf Olaniyan as a stupidity or will you dismiss the votes he garnered for Makinde as insignificant.

I think the best thing to have happened is the impeachment although one is quite optimistic that the Supreme Court will do justice on the matter.

What must not however be lost is the fact that the “illegal impeachment” is a freedom for Olaniyan and it will eventually be a victory for him. Nobody pays good with evils and go scot free. The PDP government has been stripped of both the popular and divine mandate and it is bound to lule in 2023 because Tessy Lo Kan.
