Oyo PDP Senatorial Candidate, Olasunkanmi Tegbe has expressed shock over the demise of Hon. Ademola Popoola of Ibadan Southeast Constituency 2.
He showed his commiseration in a release he personally signed and made available to news men
According to him”It is with a heavy heart that I received the news of the passing into glory of a brother and a patriot, Hon. Ademola Popoola, the lawmaker representing Ibadan South East 2 in the Oyo State House of Assembly.
“The death of Hon. Popoola at this time is very shocking, to say the least, as he was recently given the nod to seek re-election on the platform of the PDP based on his satisfactory performance in the last 3 years. No doubt, he was a vibrant and competent lawmaker who discharged his duties efficiently, especially as the Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
“Popson, as he is fondly called, would be sorely missed by the people of his Constituency, our Local Government and Oyo state in general. We take solace in the fact that he lived a life of service to God and humanity.
“The footprints and legacy he left behind is a testimony to the fact that he was a man who impacted positively on people far and wide.
“I extend my condolences to his family, Governor Seyi Makinde, the Speaker and all members of Oyo State House of Assembly, his friends and political associates. I pray that God Almighty grants him eternal rest and give us all the fortitude to bear the loss.
