APC Senatorial Candidate, Alli Felicitates Muslims On Id-el-Kabir, Preaches Love, Tolerance

Spread the love

Candidate for the Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akogun Sharafadeen Alli on Saturday urged the Muslim Ummah to extend hands of fellowship and love to Christians and people of other faiths as preached by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Alli also tasked Muslims to use the special event of this year Eid-Ul-Kabir to pray for return of peace to the country.

The former Secretary to the Oyo State Government who stated this in his Sallah message said Nigerians need to get more close to God at this critical time.

According to him, Nigeria leaders need more supports of the people to tackle insecurity and economic downturn in the country.

Alli urged Muslims not to forget the lesson learnt in the Holy Festival which symbolizes redemption, sacrifice, forgiveness, altruism and love.

Alli said true faith in Allah comes with steadfastness, peace, love, charity, kindness, good neighbourliness, urging the Ummah to use the occasion to pray for the country as it faces the daunting challenge of insecurity.

He noted that with the prayers of the faithful and collaboration of all Nigerians with security agents, the menace of insecurity and other sociopolitical problems would soon become a thing of the past.

Let us use the sacrifice of Prophet Ibraheem (ASS), which we celebrate, to spur us on sacrifice for the progress and prosperity of Oyo State and Nigeria. Sacrificing for our state and country means giving our best in our various areas of endeavour.

The message reads: “I am using this year special occasion of Eid-Ul-Kabir to congratulate the Muslim Ummah for witnessing yet another year. I want to urge our fellow Muslims brothers and sisters to extend love to Christians and people of other faiths. We need to pray for return of peace to Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole.

“Let’s not forget the lesson learnt in from Prophet Ibraheem who sacrifised himself for humanity. Therefore, this Holy Festival which symbolizes redemption, sacrifice, forgiveness, altruism and love should be our watchword.
