A resident at Bashorun in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State has challenged and dared officials of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company(IBEDC) to disconnect his house wires and land in troubles.
The resident’s vituperation is coming barely some days after IBEDC’s officials had asked their consumers to pay their bills in order to avoid disconnection.
A resident who prefers to remain anonymous, in his interaction with naijatodaynew.com said he had challenged their officials to disconnect his house electricity wires and see what will happen after the assumed ugly incident.
In his furtherance, an anonymous resident lamented that he is disappointed in the ways and manners the IBEDC’s officials are treating their customers on epileptic supply of electricity.
He added that he was surprised that they are demanding for bills of electricity which they are not regularly supplying to the consumers, saying, an attitude amounts to corruption and lack of integrity and impeccable character.
While narrating his experience, he said, he had been living at Bashorun Ibadan for over a year and he could count the numbers of times and days which IBEDC had restored electricity in the area.
The resident said, despite irregularity of electricity, the officials are fond of distributing unaffordable bills which have no justification on enjoyment of electricity and economic attachment.
The resident said, the IBEDC officials had turned their activities to means and strategies to dupe customers without consideration for reciprocity of electricity.
Adding that electricity was better enjoyed before its privatization, unlike now they collect dues on bills without restoring electricity for the customers.
