The management, Bonike Bakery & Confectionery in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State has justified reasons that triggered reluctant increment in prices of its bread.
The management stated this in a release it personally signed and made available to naijatodaynew.com
According to the statement, “our mission is to serve quality and delicious bread at an affordable price in Oyo State and its environ but Nigeria keep happening to us.
“A bag of flour was N11, 200 when we started the bakery a year and a half ago. It’s now N26, 300 per bag.
“I can’t remember the last time we used PHCN electricity to produce at the bakery. Diesel was about N220 per litre, now sells at N820 per litre.
“We are not talking about other ingredients that make Bonike Bread a unique bread in Ibadan that has tripled in price. The level of inflation in the country is alarming and hurtful to any manufacturer that is not used to cutting corners.
“Dear Esteemed Customers, we believe you deserve the quality we give you and we are here to make sure your quality Bonike Bread keeps its standard. Given this, we are reluctantly increasing our prices and we believe you will go through this journey with us because we are all in it together.
“Thank you for your continuous patronage, management shows appreciation
