Comrade Adejumo Jelili, Oyo State Organising Secretary for New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP) has said that his membership with the party remains intact, despite Hon. Ademola Ojo’s calls on his followers and loyalists to a crucial meeting.
Recall that Ojo has been appointed by Governor Seyi Makinde as the Deputy Chief of Staff, while his followers and loyalists claimed that Ojo did not carry them along before he defected and accepted the offer in PDP.
The State Organising Secretary while speaking with naijatodaynew.com revealed that despite the meeting called by Ojo, with no knowledge of purpose, he remains a bonafide member of NNPP in Oyo State and Nationwide but he can only leave provided the Party Leader, Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan leaves for other party
Jelili maintained that, despite he and Ojo are not with same political party does not mean he cannot answer him whenever he calls on him but he can’t join him in PDP.
He distanced himself from rumours and speculation spreading like wildfire that he, Jelili has picked tent with PDP, stressing that he remains with NNPP and Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan remains his leader.
Jelili reiterated that he cannot preempt the meeting he has not attended, but his attendance will unveil the purpose the meeting was summoned.
On Ojo’s defection to PDP, NNPP Chieftain maintained that he and others had no knowledge of his defection to conservative party but he only told them about appointment as the Deputy Chief of Staff to Oyo State Government.
On his association with NNPP, Jelili emphasised that he remains with the party and he duly acknowledges Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan as his leader.
