Oyo: OnaAra Council Chair, Shabba To Empower 130 Constituents

In his bid to teach the constituents how to fish and maintain their selves’ independence, the Executive Chairman, OnaAra Local Government, Area of Oyo State, Hon. Musibau Adesina Sanusi known as “Shabba” is set to empower 130 constituents on vocational engagement.

Shabba disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists at the epoch making occasion aimed at empowering about 130 women and youths on cloth dye, nylon cutting, shoe making, art graphics and others respectively.

The opening programme which featured creme de la creme at OnaAra Local Government Secretariat, Ibadan on Friday, June 24, 2022 staged with purpose of teaching the constituents on how to fish, in order to be self independent.

In his furtherance, Shabba stressed that he had initially selected about 45 women across wards that make the local council for financial empowerment but noted that such gestures cannot reduce the hardship and challenges which being encountered by the constituents.

Adding that, he came up with the idea of empowering about 130 women and youths on areas of vocational training in order to improve their standard of living.

On period of training for the selected trainees, the council Chairman maintained that the training period will be ranged from 3 days, 2 weeks and 6 weeks, which each period is in line with vocation chosen by the participants.

Shabba pledged that, there shall be provision of materials and equipment for the graduands at the end of the exercise.

He however hinted that, a programme is in pipeline that will see to improvement of education across 102 primary schools in the council area, stressing that Southwest Youth Vanguard will also come up in the mean time.

Shabba noted that the training and other subsequent programmes will be funded from his salaries and monthly allocation getting from Governor Seyi Makinde.

He asked people to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Cards(PVCs) and ensure they vote all PDP candidates at the general elections slated for 2023.

The programme was well attended by Alh. Mufutau Ogunremi (PDP Vice Chairman, Oyo Central), Alh. Waheed Adurodekun (PDP Leader), Hon. Nurudeen Akanni (Former Chairman, Ona-Ara LG), Hon. Taiwo Ibrahim (Inukan LCDA Secretary), Engr. Jide Falana ( Chief of Staff, Ona-Ara LG), Hon. Nurudeen Badmus (Super for Works), Hon. Ambali Ariyo Adetunji (Super for Health), and Hon. Nafiu Okunade ( SA, Former Chief of Staff).
