The wife of Oyo state New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP governorship candidate, Mrs. Ruth Popoola has called all Arewa communities in Oyo state to support her husband, Engr. Popoola Olukayode Joshua ( POJ ) and his party, NNPP for the 2023 general election.
Mrs. Popoola, who is also an Arewa daughter from Kaduna state made the call when she met the Areas from different communities on Friday at Sabo, Mokola Ibadan.
At Sabo, Mrs. Popoola was first received by the Seriki Hausawa of Ibadanland, Alhaji Ali Dahiru Zungeru, and later joined Arewa women for an interaction session at Ibadan recreational club.
While soliciting the support of the Arewa people, he urged every individual to see Oyo NNPP as the best alternative political party that is capable of giving them the deserved dividend of democracy in Oyo state.
Speaking further, she educates the people on the importance of having a Voter’s card as it will be the only tool to correct the wrong come 2023.
Mrs. Popoola during her visitation also donated various gifts items to Arewa women and assured them of his commitment every time she is called on.
Dahiru Zungeru, who responded on behalf of the Arewa community leaders, said: “We have been here for several decades leaving peacefully with Yoruba people but had never got the opportunity of having one us in a bigger elective position, now our daughter has been given a federal representative ticket for Ibadan North and you again, Arewa daughter is looking forward to being First Lady here in Oyo state, we will do everything to actualize all these dreams come 2023″. Hon. Monsurat Naalado Bawa, the female youth that won the NNPP federal house of representatives ticket for the Ibadan North constituency while speaking with newsmen said, her party, NNPP is the only political party that made the right decision in Ibadan North federal constituency, added that the voting strength of Arewa community will give her the needed victory at the poll.
