A chieftain of People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Ibadan, Baba Ismaila Ashipa has warned the alleged Ibadan North Cabal not to substitute the candidature of Hon.Fola Don who was said to have emerged in a free and transparent primary.
Ashipa made the warning in an open letter he wrote to Governor Seyi Makinde and made the copy available to naijatodaynew.com
The letter’s content goes thus:

Sir,
THE IBADAN NORTH PDP CABAL MUST NOT SUBSTITUTE THE DECLARED WINNER, HON. FOLA DON FOR THE DEFEATED, AT STATE CONSTITUENCY 1.
I heard this yesternight but now confirmed by my grapevine, inside house informant that some of Your Excellency’s close aides are not pleased with our choice through the ballot, the Ibadan North PDP State House of Assembly Constituency 1 candidate, Hon Fola Don.
Sir. With due respect to Your Excellency’s exulted office, I understand Ibadan North election inside out. And I can, without the fear of being contradicted say, that any attempt to change the duly elected Hon Fola Don would be the end of the game for the PDP, Ibadan North Constituency 1.
I wish to put it in record that, though there were many obstacles against Hon Fola Don at the primary, Hon Fola Don won by 8/7. The delegates, though coerced and harassed by many disgruntled leaders, the delegates appreciated all the good works Fola had done at his first term and voted him the winner.
Your Excellency Sir, Hon Fola Don won that election democratically, neat and clear. The most keenly contested primary in Ibadan North ever.
May I use the opportunity of this medium to appeal to Your Excellency on behalf of the good people of Ibadan North Constituency 1 who are singing the praises of the good works of your administration to executively interfere in this campaign after election. Those cabals only believe that democracy begins in their mouths and ends in their stomachs. Enough of external interference in the affairs of Ibadan North.
Hon Fola Don won in a free and fair election. I pray it is confirmed and upheld.
