Oyo State PDP has conducted primaries in 32 state assembly constituencies as logistics issues have hindered the possibility of conducting the exercise in some federal constituencies and thereby enhanced postponement till Monday.
Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, Oyo State PDP Secretary said this in a release he personally signed and made available to news men.
According to him, “the leadership of the Party in Oyo State uses this medium to appreciate our teeming supporters, our Delegates, our leaders and Stakeholders for their love and commitment to the party and the successful conduct of today’s primary elections
“We have concluded elections in our thirty two (32) State Assembly Constituencies and candidates have emerged, we also conducted House of Representatives elections in our federal constituencies today and it was largely successful although not yet concluded
“We are aware of the few logistics issues in some federal constituencies namely Oluyole, Egbeda/Ona Ara, Ibadan North, Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West, Saki East/Saki West/Atisbo, Akinyele/Lagelu and Ibadan North East/South East federal constituencies and we have activated the necessary machineries to fix the issues, we assure our members in the affected federal constituencies that the elections will take place in accordance to the provisions of our party’s constitution and the nation’s electoral act by tomorrow morning.
“We congratulate all the winners today and we strongly admonish them to be magnanimous and large hearted even in victory as they prepare for campaigns and eventually the general elections
“We want to implore our teeming members to continue to be law abiding and peaceful as we look forward to the Senatorial and Gubernatorial Primary elections in the coming days”, Adeleke ended
